FAQ’s

What if my child is shy, grumpy or doesn’t cooperate?

Please don’t stress. We’re experts at getting the best out of all types of little personalities — from the wildly energetic to the extra cautious and slow-to-warm-up.

Rather than expecting children to sit perfectly still and smile at the camera, sessions are guided through gentle prompts, games and natural interaction designed to help little ones feel playful, and comfortable.

There’s always time and space allowed for shy children to warm up gradually, have another try, or simply watch others have a turn first — which can often be especially helpful for little ones who need a little extra reassurance.

What should we wear?

First and foremost — come as yourself! The most meaningful portraits are usually the ones where everyone feels comfortable, and genuinely themselves.

If you’d like a little guidance though, neutral, earthy and soft tones tend to photograph beautifully in the studio. Simple textures and timeless clothing styles work especially well, while large logos and a lot of text can be hard to read and distracting in images.

What if we’re running late?

While we ask that families try their best to arrive within their selected 15-minute arrival window we completely understand that life with little ones can sometimes be unpredictable, and there is a little flexibility built into the flow where possible — so please do still come along if you’re running late.

Little Portrait Club sessions are designed to run gently and naturally, with families arriving and finishing within the same short window of time, so arriving as close to your selected arrival window as possible really helps the day flow smoothly for everyone.

You may arrive to find another family finishing up, or another little one waiting nearby — this is all part of the friendly, social LPC experience.
